Day 6: Vienna

Today, we arrived in the capital city of Austria – Vienna! One of the four capital cities along the Danube (and the first of three we are visiting), Vienna is also the first “big city” we have seen in a couple of days so this was definitely a change in pace from where we had been. While we enjoyed the views of the city from the ship in the morning, we had a few meetings today with some of the AmaWaterways executives to prepare for our cruises this October. Had we not, we would have been able to join in on one of three included tours to the city – a guided bus/walking tour, bike tour, or hike. However, we had lots of work to do to get things ready for our guests in just a few months!

The entire AmaWaterways team has been amazing – and today’s meetings were no different. We are very confident that our guests are going to have not only a great time, but truly the experience of a lifetime onboard these 100% gluten-free cruises this October! We discussed many intricate details today, from gluten-free beer, to excursions that are customized specifically for our group, to the preparation of gluten-free lunch boxes for guests to take with them on the full-day tour to Salzburg just in case anyone isn’t comfortable with some of the gluten-free options in town. We dotted the I’s, crossed the T’s, and are highly confident that AmaWaterways is going to deliver the most amazing experience for our guests.

After our meetings, we took the complimentary shuttle into town to explore Vienna and all its glory. After strolling through the streets, enjoying some local gluten-free treats, and doing a bit of souvenir shopping, it was time to head back to the ship for dinner (did I mention there is a LOT of food?!?). After dinner, while we could have taken advantage of the evening shuttle into the city, we chose to relax and enjoy the beautiful views from the Sun Deck of the AmaLea while talking about just how excited we all were to have our guests here with us in just a few short months. (PS – for those of you reading along and thinking, “wow I wish that could be me”, we still have a few cabins available! Check out our Home Page (CeliacCruise.com) for more info!

Tomorrow we are in our next port and our next capital along the Danube – Bratislava!
